Last week was Youth Challenge in West Harrison, IN. It was a great time to get hundreds of young people together to bring them to a closer relationship with God. I felt the sessions and the speakers were very good this year. Youth Challenge started on Thursday night with the youth group from the Gratz Emmanuel Wesleyan Church performing a drama intitled Tilly which is a very touching story about abortion. They did a great job and the message was tremendous. The next day was full of activities and in the evening service, Dan Durkee gave his testimony of where he was raised and how he got saved. He shared some very personal accounts in his life and about his family. God really helped Dan and he gave an altar call at the end. Dozens of young people came forward asking God to take control of their lives. It was truly a special time. Saturday was full of activitities as well and Youth Challenge concluded with a man by the name of David Duncan who shared about experiences in his life. He is a double amputee, has had organ transplants and numerous physical difficulties throughout his life. But in each one of them he has allowed them to bring him closer to God and strenthen his faith in Christ. In his words, you can choose to be "bitter or better" and he chose to be better. His humorous style of speaking along with his hilarious outfit was very unique. This was not my first trip to Youth Challenge however it was my first time to sing there. It was a great time to be together with some good friends all to help young people come to know Christ or to know Him better. I will try to post some pictures from the trip.
